Alvaro Hanser, Brown Belt

Founder & CEO, Head Coach

Alvaro started Jiu Jitsu in 2008 in Brazil, then continued his training for the last 10 years in Canada. Alvaro is passionate and dedicated to his students, and is well-known in the Jiu Jitsu community as an exceptional competition coach. He connects with his students in a unique way, sharing a mutual trust and respect that is unparalelled.

Sophie Melnyk, Blue Belt

Coach

Sophie started Jiu Jitsu when she was 8 years old, and quickly found a deep love for the sport, in training and in competing. Over the years she has had great success, both locally and internationally, sharing countless victories with her teammates. She has discovered a passion for coaching, leading by example and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

Ryan Melnyk, Orange Belt

Junior Coach

Ryan has been training since he was 7 years old. Always at the heart of our competition team, he loves to compete, but even more, he loves to cheer on his teammates and help coach them to victory. Ryan has a very technical game, and has always been a natural teacher, with endless patience and enthusiasm while explaining concepts and techniques to younger students.
